Biography

Mario is a local councillor, campaigner, and public affairs professional with a strong record of delivery across local government, national politics, and the private sector.

He grew up in a family where hard work, responsibility, and resilience were non-negotiable. His father came to Britain as a teenager and worked steadily throughout his life, prioritising stability and opportunity for his family. That example shaped Mario’s outlook from an early age. He went on to become the first in his family to attend university and later had the privilege of working in Parliament and in Downing Street, gaining first-hand experience of how decisions at the heart of government affect communities across the country.

Alongside his public service, Mario has built a successful career advising major businesses on navigating political, economic, and regulatory change. He has worked with some of the biggest and most recognisable companies in the world, including Budweiser, John Lewis, and McLaren. That experience has given him a practical understanding of how jobs are created, how supply chains function, and how government decisions can either support or hinder enterprise.

Mario has served his local community in elected office for over a decade. As a councillor, he has focused on practical outcomes rather than rhetoric: standing up for residents when infrastructure fails, opposing inappropriate development, and working to raise standards in local services.

Mario is married to Amy, who is the proprietor of a newly established SEND school. Her work supporting children with additional needs has further reinforced his belief in high standards, personal responsibility, and the importance of systems that genuinely work for families. They have young children, and family life remains central to everything he does.

Why I’m a Conservative

I am a Conservative because my family’s story shows what opportunity, responsibility, and freedom can achieve over time.

My father never earned very much, but Britain gave him something far more important than wealth. It gave him the chance to build a stable life through work and effort, and to see his children go further than he ever could. That is the promise worth protecting.

Conservatism, at its best, is about making that promise real for others. It means backing enterprise, rewarding hard work, and living within our means so we do not burden the next generation with our debts. It means believing in freedom, but also expecting responsibility from individuals, institutions, and the state itself.

In a world changing faster than ever before, I believe Conservatism must be confident enough to reform what no longer works, while preserving the institutions and values that give people security and opportunity. That balance is what first drew me to the Conservative Party, and why I remain committed to it.

Why political public service matters to me

I am not interested in politics as a destination. I am interested in what politics can do when it is done seriously and responsibly.

The pace of change in our economy, our society, and the wider world is accelerating. Decisions taken today will shape the life chances of our children and grandchildren in ways we cannot yet fully imagine. Managing the status quo is no longer enough.

My own life has been shaped by decisions made before I was born. That has given me a strong sense of responsibility to think beyond the immediate and to focus on long-term outcomes, not short-term comfort.

For me, Parliament matters because it is where those long-term decisions are made. It is where responsibility, opportunity, and fairness must be defended if they are to endure. My aim is to contribute to that work with seriousness, humility, and a clear focus on serving the people and communities who place their trust in you.

Mario combines political experience, professional skill and personal integrity. He has served as a councillor for over a decade, knows how to get things done locally, and has real empathy for the people he represents. Mario’s political conviction is heartfelt and unwavering. He believes passionately in aspiration, personal responsibility and fairness - in giving everyone the opportunity to get on in life through their own effort. In all his work, Mario demonstrates the Conservative belief that enterprise, hard work and community spirit change lives. He is motivated by service, not status, and he acts with conviction rather than convenience.

Mario is a capable, principled and hard-working Conservative who delivers results. He has shown leadership in helping to return Croydon to Conservative control, a deep understanding of how to engage and motivate people, and the professional experience to represent business and community interests effectively in Parliament. He would bring energy, experience and integrity to the role of MP, and I have no hesitation in recommending him for approval as a Parliamentary candidate. He would be an asset both to his constituents and to the Conservative Party in Westminster.

Mario Creatura and Andrea Leadsom

Mario is a great supporter of my work on behalf of the government to improve early years support. He is effective at ‘getting things done,’ standing up for social justice and always strives to help the youngest in our society. Mario would make an outstanding Member of Parliament."

  • Rt Hon. Dame Andrea Leadsom MP, Former Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

Mario Creatura Mims Davies

I first met Mario when I was the Minister for Civil Society and Loneliness. From the start it was clear that he not only cared deeply about building a better community, and country, but that he rolls up his sleeves to help make it happen. He's enthusiastic and proactive - he'd be a brilliant MP."
